About the Maker
Welcome to LeatherCraft Haven
LeatherCraft Haven is a working journal for hand-stitched leatherwork. Every guide here comes from time spent at the bench — cutting, skiving, saddle-stitching, edge-burnishing, and finishing — not from skimming forum posts.
What We Cover
- Vegetable-Tanned Leather – Choosing weights, identifying tannage, and knowing when to use chrome-tan instead
- Hand Tools – Pricking irons, round knives, edge bevelers, burnishers, and the small set of tools that actually matter
- Saddle Stitching – Two-needle technique, thread choice (Tiger vs Ritza), stitch lengths, and pull tension
- Edge Finishing – Beveling, sanding through grits, gum tragacanth, beeswax, and slicker work
- Patterns & Projects – Card holders, bifold wallets, belts, and small leather goods you can actually finish in a weekend
About the Maker
Kenny Nyhus Fadil has been working leather by hand for several years, building from his first uneven card holder into a small home workshop turning out belts, bifolds, and commission pieces. He tests every tool and technique he writes about on his own bench before recommending it.
Our Approach
This site is built for makers who want to stitch, not just collect tools. Every project page documents the actual leather weights, thread sizes, stitch counts per inch, and finish materials used — the kind of practical detail that lets you reproduce the result on your own bench.
